When we had our first child together, this was typical:  Their dad took them everywhere.  If I asked for help with typical parenting chores, it was greeted with a “what? Am I their father, their mother, their everything?”  Always said as a joke in a stinging way as though I didn’t do enough.

We had the parenting gig down pretty good.  Our priorities were to travel to see family in Pensacola, Avalon, Jacksonville, DC.   We had lots of friends with families we played with.   We made sure they knew their cousins   and spent lots of time with both grand parents, aunts and uncles.

In a ten year span we had three boys and a girl.  We were always busy, creating memories and then in the blink of an eye (previous post) it was over.

Because of a tumultuous divorce, I had to retreat as a family of 5, move away from my beloved Mt Pleasant, and find a new support system.

Ironic that the stinging comment ended up becoming true, well sort of, I ended up being their mother, their father, their everything BUT never alone!

The three key ingredients to this whole rebuild team were my dad, my mom and Tim for whom I will always be forever grateful!
