I don’t know how your day was, but I had a mild wake up call when my son posted that he was experiencing Hurricane Force winds on the Mississippi River this morning.
While this was happening, what was I doing? Just feeling sorry for myself and my big stack of work. I had put down Facebook to focus and didn’t even see this gem until lunch.
It just makes you step back and realize you never know when things are going to roll through like that and how you react might mean the difference of life or death.
I am glad it wasn’t tragic for him. I just don’t even want to worry like that over things we can’t control.
I am going to go to bed and take a big deep breath and be thankful that it was an experience my son can talk about. After watching those trains fall over the track in Belle Chase, LA during the storm, on the news it makes you wonder how a tanker can hold up to Mother Nature like that.
When life comes at you like an out of control freight train, there isn’t anything you can do to stop it. The only thing you can control is how you react – do everything you can to hold on until it’s over without too many scratches. When it’s over I bet you will appreciate your loved ones even more than before.
I know I am really glad you are still around to sit in your moms lap! Please don’t make your mommy worry like that again, okay?
