I posted this on Facebook immediately after leaving.  I wanted to save this great information to read later.

Just reflecting on such a magical week we had in Bermuda. The week before we went was rainy. We had perfect weather with only one cloudy day, our first day with a period of two hours of rain. Actually the cloudy day was delightful because it wasn’t as hot.
The weather was 78-82 the whole time and at night when the humidity would drop it was perfect!
Everything was green, flowers everywhere, some fragrant, there was always a breeze.
The beaches are pink because of the coral reefs that surround the island. This island is not full of poverty like many Islands farther south in the Carribean.
It’s rich in history and has many parks.
The island is only 21 miles long and very hilly. It is the remains of a dead/inactive volcano.
You cannot rent a car, you can walk, ride the bus (well run), rent pedal bike or moped, or call a taxi. Everyone drives on the left side of the road so it’s common for vacationers to struggle when they rent mopeds. There have been many accidents and few years ago there was a tragic death of a family so they warn you not to do it unless you are extremely competant. We opted out of the moped experience having tried it 12 years ago.
Trip Advisor was a huge help in finding the best fine dining experiences! Each night was great and actually got better during the week when we didn’t think it was possible to top it.
We rented a great cottage for a great price $200 per night. We had a kitchen where we would eat breakfast before we started our day. The only thing we had to do different than we would if we stayed a hotel on the bus route was always get a taxi home after dinner. Our bus route was in a residential area and would end 6-7pm. That could be $15-25 per trip.
Two hotels that I think are worth looking at that are convenient to the buses are Grotto bay & beach resort ($300 per night) and a little more upscale Elbow Beach Cottages. ($500 per night) and if money is not object stay at Rosewood – Tucker’s Pointe for $800 per night.

Bermuda is definitely a place everyone should experience. Water temps are ideal in Sept.
