Before we shopped, we had to fuel up. We picked up our new pilot Bevan and headed to Tiki Hut for brunch—it was our first time, and it did not disappoint. Right on the beach with a breeze, live music, and plenty of people-watching. Bevan even navigated the summer parking madness like a pro, earning his brunch before we’d even ordered.

As we left, a guy complimented my friends in their Spartina outfits, saying, “10 out of 10!” I was standing there in my casual golf outfit and joked, “What am I—like a 9?” He struggled to give me that grade, we all laughed… but I knew I had to fix this fast. Cue a quick trip to Fresh Produce, where I found the perfect dress and wore it out the door.

This is the last time you see me in golf clothes

We hit Hilton Head in full shopping mode—returning to our favorite spots, The Fresh Produce from last February, this time with serious intent.

Next up: the Sea Bags store—recycled sailcloth turned into bags? So cool.

At Wexford Plaza, we went to Java Burrito for a round of iced Mexican mochas and hit Gifted, where I found earrings to match my outfit (because obviously, that mattered).

Then it was off to Shelter Cove. I wanted to show the girls Coastal Bliss, but we detoured into Belk as it started rumbling and sprinkling. The swimsuit section caught our eye, we really thought there were cute suits available at 50% off but the reality they were left over for a reason, we took turns in the hot, stinky dressing rooms and declared that was a terrible experience. We laughed our way through it and swore off buying new suits forever our old ones were just fine! I did, however, score a deal with a Vince Camino dress.

$139 price tag got for $29

Then came the REAL storm, we worked our way up to the show department. Cassandra peeked out the doors and could barely see outside—the trees were blowing sideways. When I got there the alarms were blaring from the storage in the back, and the front doors kept flying open and slamming shut from the wind. Naturally, we hung out in the shoe department and the clerk was calm enough to grab shoes for us to try on!

While waiting it out, we met some fun women from Augusta who said the rain was starting to let us. Then they gave us a tip: we could leave Belk, walk under the roofline along the pine straw, and get to the regular Spartina store. We’d already hit the warehouse sale yesterday, so this little side mission let us peek at the full-price tags—and confirm we got some seriously great deals.

We moved the car, swung by Coastal Bliss, then wandered to Poseiden to the NautiBar for a happy hour drink.

By dinner, the rain stopped and we headed to Benny’s Coastal Kitchen rooftop restaurant called 41 Up Rooftop for tapas and seafood, live music, and the prettiest sunset.

As always, between shopping stops, we talked life—and this time Beverly gave us a new mantra: “Time to change the channel.” These girls helped me reset and trust what I already knew: some channels need changing, and some doors need to stay closed.

These are my friends for life. 💕
